Eric DaCosta, a Florida man, was charged with premeditated murder and the abuse of a dead body. Who was it that DaCosta killed? Well, it turns out it was his roommate of five years who DaCosta had reported missing for a week.
Dacosta eventually turned himself in essentially when he said that he had some information on the mystery of the dead body. He admitted that the man was his roommate and that the roommate had a mental illness, was addicted to drugs and was "threatening."
DaCosta took the situation into his own hands and shot the man, in order to reduce the threat. The bottom line here is that if you have problems with you roommate, perhaps consider moving out.
